This is a recipe that I found here some time ago and started using it regularly, with some variations. My bonus daughter loves this one, as does her dad! Enjoy!
This recipe will make 4-6 servings depending on the size.
1lb Extra Lean Ground Beef (or Turkey or Chicken)
1 large Head Cabbage, Shredded
1/2 large Sweet Onion, Diced
1 large Carrot, Shredded
2 Jalapenos, Diced (optional)
2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
3 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
3 TBS Sweet Chili Sauce (this stuff is amazing!)
3/4 Cups Water
Salt & Pepper
- In a (very) large sauce pan, cook meat until well done. Drain and set aside.
- Same large pan: Add olive oil and add in onion, carrot, garlic and jalapenos. Cook and stir until ingredients have softened.
- Next- add cabbage, water, Worcestershire, sweet chili sauce, and salt & pepper. Cover and cook until water is gone and cabbage is soft and cooked completely through. (Usually 15-20 minutes if large amount of cabbage).
- Stir the cooked meat back into the cabbage and let cook until heated through.
- Serve hot & enjoy!
